Reading (123/365)

The Royal Wedding (122/365)

The kiss Prince William and Princess Catherine shared on the Buckingham Palace balcony this morning left much to be desired.  It was a bit of a let down, no?

Well, Ralph and I decided to show them how it should have been done.

St. Paul's Church - Petersburg, VA (120/365)

It's another Wednesday, Where's Ralph edition.
Can you find him in the above picture?

I was in Petersburg visiting a patient's family and had parked next to St. Paul's.
I nearly met my death placing Ralph in the picture, as I had slippery shoes on and had to climb up a rock curb, reach pretty far out over the shrubbery to place him.
I slid on the curbing and almost back upon the iron daggers of the fence.
But, I got the shot!

Here are some more photos, sans Ralphie.
My apologies for the quality, as they were all taken with my cell phone.

Winter leftovers (119/365)

This picture was taken while wandering around the amphitheater at Dogwood Dell.
I like to think of all the brown leaves, sticks and acorn tops as leftovers of this past winter.
Not sure what the little green pellets were, any ideas?

Crochet (118/365)

I found this spool of very thin thread and a crochet needle at my grandmother's house yesterday.  I don't know how to crochet more than a chain stitch going one way; Ralph can't crochet either.  However, he did enjoy playing with the thread.

Easter (117/365)

I hope everyone had a fun and safe Easter.  Ralph and I spent ours in Hampton visiting with family.

Highlights (115/365)

Today Ralph's friend, Kelly, pampered him with a hair treatment.  Well, I guess it was more of a fin treatment, if we're honest.

Objects in the Rear View Mirror...(114/365)

...may appear closer than they are.

Yeah, I know.  This is a SIDE view mirror.  So what?

Dirt (112/365)

"You may write me down in history,
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt,
But still, like dust, I'll rise."

Buttercup (111/365)

When I was a small girl, my friends and I would pick these weeds that have a yellow bloom.  I don't know if it is the real name of them or not, but everyone I know calls them "buttercups."  Supposedly, if you put a buttercup under your chin and the yellow of the flower is reflected upon your skin, you "like butter."  If there is no reflection, you "don't like butter."  I am sure how sunny the day is has NOTHING to do with whether or not the reflection appears...

I can't tell whether Ralph likes butter or not, can you?

Weather (110/365)

We had some strange weather here in Richmond yesterday.  Cloudy, drizzle, thunderstorms, downpours, hail, tornado warnings, and even sunshine!  Ralph and I had fun playing in the rain a bit.  I like both the color and B/W shots, so you get both.

Snow Globe (109/365)

Today's post finds Ralph atop a snow globe.  I wonder if he is trying to figure a way to get inside?  Do you love snow globes?  Then take a peek at Amy's 365 Project, Snow Globe 365.

Hyacinth (108/365)

Springtime is here and so is the blooming of one of my favorite flowers, the hyacinth!
The scent of hyacinth reminds me of childhood and a dear neighbor who grew them.
It is amazing to me the power of scent.

Are there any smells that transport you back to an earlier time and place?

Pantry (107/365)

Although my pantry may not be as orderly as that in Swiper's house, Ralph can find what he wants just fine.

Tea Kettle (106/365)

Thanks to Jess, Swiper's mom, for playing along yesterday!  Yes, Ralph had made his way inside a tea kettle for yesterday's "Where's Ralph" episode.

Wednesday's Where's Ralph? (105/365)

What do you think Ralph is hiding inside?

You will have to check back tomorrow for the answer!

Ouija (104/365)

Last night there were some strange sounds emanating from my closet.  I went to investigate and this is what I discovered...

I was shocked!  Apparently Ralph believes there are spirits in our home and had decided to contact them.  I didn't wait to see if he made contact and told him I didn't want to know.  After putting him in time-out and blowing out the candles, I put an end to such nonsense....

Ouija Boards are NOTHING to play with, I told Ralph.  They allow all sorts of evil into a home.  So, I burned it.  He was instructed to use the Magic 8 Ball next time.

Dinosaur kisses (103/365)

Who knew, Ralph's true love is a small dinosaur we ran across at work...
And, he's into biting...kinky little fish!

DAY 100!!!! (100/365)

So, who thought it would ever happen?!  I have stuck with this project for 100 days now...this is some sort of record for me.  Now, just 265 more days to go...one day at a time.

Through thick and thin, Ralph is always with me

Ralph's Reads (99/365)

Ralph and I hit Barnes and Noble for a hot drink and some light reading this afternoon.  As you can see, he was really into the science/animal section; I had to drag him away by his fins!

Ralph was enchanted by the rubber ducky
Following in the footsteps (errr...fossil steps?) of his ancestors

Sunday (96/365)

Tissues and cough medicine.
This is Sunday.

tomorrow you'll be afraid to cough."  (Pearl Williams)

Chiropractic (94/365)

Ever since that small bit of Ralph's fin broke off, he's been complaining about fin cramps.  So, I decided to take him in to see Dr. "R," my Chiropractor.  As you can see, he was a bit small for both the table and the equipment (that metal thing in front of him is part of an adjuster), but Dr. "R" was able to help out.  A few flips of the fin and Ralph is feeling 100% better!
